Fox has announced the renewal of “Krapopolis,” an upcoming animated television series created by Dan Harmon, co-creator of “Rick and Morty.” The series, which is set in mythical ancient Greece, has yet to air its first episode but has already been renewed for a third season.

All-Star Cast Voicing the Show

The show will feature an all-star cast, including Hannah Waddingham, Richard Ayoade, Matt Berry, Pam Murphy, and Duncan Trussell. Its premiere is set for sometime in 2023 on Fox.

Krap Chicken NFT Collection

In August, “Krapopolis” launched its first 10,420 Krap Chicken non-fungible token (NFT) collection. Holders of Krap Chickens have the ability to vote on show elements, access behind-the-scenes content, attend in-person events with the cast and crew, and redeem rewards for official merchandise and digital goods.

Cost of Krap Chickens NFT Collection

Currently, Krap Chickens can still be minted on the Krapopolis site for 0.18 ether (ETH), or approximately $280, while the floor price of the collection on OpenSea is around 0.11 ETH (about $170). A floor price being lower than the cost to mint an NFT in a collection is generally considered unfavorable.

Renewal Despite Market Trends

Despite market trends, Michael Thorn, Fox’s president of scripted programming, expressed his enthusiasm for the project and his support of projects with potential. He stated that “While [a third season order] is atypical, it was a no-brainer for us with ‘Krapopolis.'”

Investment in the Project

In July, it was announced that Fox Entertainment would be investing $100 million into the project. According to OpenSea, the project has generated 418 ETH (about $650,000) in sales so far.
